Methodology
The weather score is a 0–100 figure for one reference point and one month. It is not a survey of visitor satisfaction.
For the general profile, temperature is 40%, rainfall and rainy days are 35%, humidity is 15%, and wind is 10%. Nature uses 35/35/10/20 instead, because strong wind matters more outdoors.
Beach weather prefers about 26–31°C. City weather prefers about 15–24°C. Nature prefers about 12–22°C. Rainfall scores fall as monthly rain and days with at least 1 mm increase.
If humidity or wind is missing, its weight is shared across the available measures. If temperature or rainfall is missing, no score is shown.
A wetter or drier part of the year is mentioned only when the wettest month has at least twice the rainfall of the driest month at that point.
Monthly figures are calculated by WhenToTravel. A place keeps NASA POWER (MERRA-2) until the scheduled Open-Meteo ERA5 refresh stores that place. Open-Meteo data is CC BY 4.0; attribute Open-Meteo, Copernicus C3S, and ECMWF. The published window is 2016-01-01 to 2025-12-31.
A scheduled job refreshes one place per hour from the Open-Meteo ERA5 archive, inside the free request limits. Until that place is stored, the page keeps the NASA POWER figures and names that source. The free Open-Meteo API is offered for non-commercial use; set OPEN_METEO_API_KEY to collect through the commercial customer API.
